Consent and Scope

By signing our Privacy Consent, you agree that we can collect, hold, use, and exchange personal and credit information about you for the purposes stated below. What is personal information?

What is credit information?

Credit information is personal information that relates to credit a person has applied for or has been provided. This also includes credit reporting information supplied by a credit reporting body and any information we derive from it.

Disclosures

We collect, hold, disclose, and use your personal and credit information to:

  • Assess your credit application or your suitability as a guarantor.
  • Provide information to a guarantor or related applicant.
  • Exchange information with a credit reporting body.
  • Disclose information to credit providers to arrange finance.
  • Assist insurers in assessing your suitability for insurance products.
  • Obtain information from third parties (employers, landlords, accountants, lawyers) deemed necessary to arrange finance or insurance.
  • Share with service providers (contractors, IT consultants, printers, compliance providers, and securitizers).
  • Share with any organisation that may acquire an interest in our business.
  • Verify identity via third-party systems, debt collection agencies, or regulatory bodies.
  • Manage referrals to or from other organisations and business partners.

Note: We may not be able to proceed with credit assistance if you do not provide the sought information or if you withdraw consent for us to manage this data.

Health Information

We may collect and hold health information if we are assisting you with an insurance product. We do not use or share this information for any purpose other than acquiring the specific product on your behalf.

Identity & Financial Verification

Under the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing Act 2006 (Cth) and the National Consumer Credit Protection Act 2009 (Cth), we are required to identify you and take reasonable steps to verify your financial situation. This may include enquiries via a credit reporting body.

Authority to Make Requests

You authorise us to request personal and credit information from credit providers and reporting bodies. By signing this consent, you agree that credit providers may:

  1. Borrowers: Obtain reports about your commercial creditworthiness.
  2. Borrowers: Exchange information with other credit providers to assess your application, notify of defaults, or ascertain the status of your arrangements.
  3. Guarantors: Obtain a credit report to assess your suitability as a guarantor.

Credit Reporting Bodies

We may exchange information with credit reporting bodies to obtain credit reports or verify your identity. Our current credit reporting body is Equifax:

 

Overseas Disclosure

Some parties with whom we exchange information may be located outside Australia, including India, Singapore, and the United States of America. We may also send information overseas to process specific transactions (such as international transfers) as instructed by you.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal and credit information we hold about you.
  • Request corrections to inaccurate, incomplete, or out-of-date information.
  • Request that a credit reporting body not use your information for direct marketing or pre-screening.

We may charge a fee for providing access to your information. If we refuse access or correction, we will provide you with a written explanation of our reasons.

Marketing & Electronic Communication

  • Marketing: We may contact you with news and products. You can opt out at any time by emailing info@leadersinfinance.com.au.
  • Electronic Communication: By providing your email or mobile number, you consent to receiving notices and documents electronically. You are responsible for maintaining the hardware/software to access these. Paper copies will generally not be provided unless required by law.
